2009 SC & RA HEAVY-HAUL HAULING JOB OF THE YEAR
It was with great enthusiasm Energy Transportation accepted the 2009 Specialized Carriers & Rigging Association Hauling Job of the Year Award held on April 25, 2009 at the La Quinta Resort in La Quinta, California. Energy Transportation submitted a presentation high lighting the hauling of three dehydrators from Rock River, Wyo to the Meeker gas plant near Rio Blanco, Colo. in Aug. and Sept. 2008. The dehydrators were offloaded with a 440 ton Manitowoc 16000 crawler crane onto 12 lines of Scheuerle platform axles. The units were moved one at a time to a staging area where Energy offloaded the units with a 700 ton Gantry system. With the use of the Gantry system, the dehydrators were loaded onto Energy's Trail King TK350 175 ton dual lane trailer. Loaded, the dimensions were 293' long, 20' wide and 19' 10" in height weighing 840,000 pounds on 44 axles running in dual lane configuration. It took two days to load and secure the individual dehydrators, and four days to transport. The total miles for the trip were 300 miles over mountainous terrain with grades in excess of 12%. Energy Transportation owns and operates all the equipment that was used in the project. With a total of nearly 6000 man hours, the right people, the right equipment, safety being the number one focus of everyone involved, the project was accomplished with zero incidents and zero injuries. Something that seemed impossible, Energy did three times. The success of the project can be attributed to the teamwork of everyone involved. We are very proud of our employees and know that "Companies don't succeed, people do."
